CDC/NIOSH Safe Patient Handling Training For Schools of Nursing
NIOSH Safe Patient Handling and Movement Overview
Back injuries in health care settings are the number one workplace safety hazard in the United States. This one and one-half day program is designed to educate workers and supervisors on the magnitude of the problem, how our bodies get hurt, the risk factors that lead to injuries, and a means to analyze unsafe tasks. Not only is this a practical course in ergonomics, it is an excellent team-building program that builds a common bridge amongst different shifts and departments.
This training is available to any New York State Healthcare Facility where CSEA members work. The training is open to all workers, supervisors and administrators at the facility. To schedule a training or for more information, please call Janet Womachka at 1-800-342-4146, ext. 1287.
